All, Juniper is currently working on a clean slate reimplementation of Junos on top of the latest FreeBSD. In the current stage we're carving out where we aim to have interfaces and morph towards that. Juniper also switches the development model to focus on FreeBSD -current for new features and (internally) release based on a -stable version. Connect these two "dots" and what we seek is strong whitebox, unit and component testing in support of this. Juniper is eager to find out what's out there already WRT to 1) stability/reliability testing (e.g. stress2), 2) performance and scalability testing (e.g. netperf), 3) conformance and API stability testing (e.g. posix), and 4) functional regression or unit testing (...) We like to leverage as much as possible and help fill in the gaps by bootstrapping new test suites and/or expand on what's out there. There's already a bunch out there on the FreeBSD wiki, but we especially like to hear from other vendors. Commercial solutions are obviously viable for us. Please shoot me an email about something you know in this area. I'll collect the feedback and draft a summary. In-house suites that you think should and could be shared and made public are also of interest. Thanks and have a good weekend, --=20 Marcel Moolenaar marcelm@juniper.net
