If the card does dma, then it will be unlikley to work. I dont know that Gigabit ethernet existed when miatas were new, and hence, DEC wouldn't have validated, or worked around the bug for any (non-)existing cards. It might be that a card was released shortly after that which they got working with a later SRM version or something, but I generally doubt you'll ever get Gigabit ethernet on the miata.
