IMO, the problem is not in the kdebase port. The problem is that your
system has X 3.3.6.

Will sees no problem (as you saw on the list) with limiting qt30 to
X-4.x. I'm going to prepare a patch to do just that. There's just so
much of qt30 you don't get if you have X 3.x. We'll commit the patch
unless there are good logical arguments to support X 3.x.

Do you have any reason for not using X-4.x, other than the 4.5-* CDs
install X-3.x if you ask for X?
