   Here are appropriate lines for my build on CURRENT:

 c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I./.. -isystem /usr/X11R6/include    -DNDEBUG -O  -W -Wall -Wno-deprecated -pipe -march=pentium3  -trigraphs  -c ddd.C
 c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I./.. -isystem /usr/X11R6/include    -DNDEBUG -O  -W -Wall -Wno-deprecated -pipe -march=pentium3  -trigraphs  -c basename.C
 c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I./.. -isystem /usr/X11R6/include    -DNDEBUG -O  -W -Wall -Wno-deprecated -pipe -march=pentium3  -trigraphs  -c compare.C
 
 
 strstream.h is present in my system as
 /usr/include/c++/3.3/backward/strstream.h
