Oh god, not THIS discussion again.  Are you also going to rewrite the
scripts in the bindist which use it so that if somebody installs the
bindist but not the perldist, things still work as expected and we
don't take a tech-support hit over it?  Last time this came up,
somebody did volunteer to re-write all those scripts in C but I don't
think anything came of it.
