Check out http://www.byterunner.com as they have some nice low-cost
sharaable IRQ boards with 4 and 8 ports.  Even with shipping to down
under, they're probably still a good deal.

With the Byterunner boards, yes.  Just config the kernel for the
correct port addresses and IRQ(s) as a non-intelligent serial board,
the non-AST variety.
