One problem is that the two pluto machines are pretty slow and continue to have stability problems, so finishing a build can take a long time and typically requires a lot of restarts to recover from the build machine failures. Adding to the workload by trying to do parallel builds of GNOME at the same time doesn't sound like a good solution to me though.
