If that condition is matched, the chances are good, that not only FreeBSD can work with your disk, but your BIOS can boot FreeBSD from it :) Some BIOSes tend to hang during drive recognition if the drive is bigger than what's supported. Some BIOS manufacturers provide code updates that fix this issue. Simply try it.
