I still prefer the more cautious approach. For example, weird shells may offer additional options (e.g. -v for verbose). I pained long and hard over the original wording. I suppose it probably doesn't make enough of a difference to warrant backing out this specific delta, but I'd worry if you started applying the same logic to other pages that include this text.
