Yes, I tried. This works for XFree86 invoked by users startx
but not for a wdm started XFree86.

wdm is started on ttyv8

/etc/ttys
 
ttyv8   "/usr/X11R6/bin/wdm -nodaemon"  xterm           on  secure

adding an -nolisten does not work
