I'm not sure if this is the proper way to handle this so any other answers are welcome. I had the same problem when I set up my 3.0 box. I had set all the systems on the network to use the 3.0 box as the default router. I had also set the default router in rc.conf to its own IP. When I removed the default router in rc.conf everything worked (and has been working) fine.
