It is a hard job for the translation teams to maintain duplicate copies of the file since, for example, when a new trademark is added, they have to merge it (this is the reason why I split en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/contributors/article.sgml recently). To override entities which need to be translated, we can avoid such situation. I think entities should be shared with the localized docs as much as possible, and if it can be shared, it should not be in en_US.ISO8859-1/share/sgml. -- | Hiroki SATO /
