The person who's speculating about the problem doesn't have a clue what the problem is and is in blame transferance mode . It's more likely that the driver has a bug in the scsi disconnect and reconnect code, since the wait command can sometimes take a while (it may also be some kind of scsi timeout). You might as well buy a cheap scsi card that uses a different driver, since there's virtually no chance that the driver maintainer of this driver will even work on this problem without having your scanner and a scsi bus analyzer. If you wait long enough, other people will submit bug reports for this driver with other devices, and this will provide the clues needed to find the problem.
