I've been writing device drivers for 20 years, and this is highly
unlikely. The person who's speculating about the problem doesn't
have a clue what the problem is and is in blame transferance mode
<smile>.

It's more likely that the driver has a bug in the scsi
disconnect and reconnect code, since the wait command
can sometimes take a while (it may also be some kind
of scsi timeout).

You might as well buy a cheap scsi card that uses a different
driver, since there's virtually no chance that the driver maintainer
of this driver will even work on this problem without having your
scanner and a scsi bus analyzer.

If you wait long enough, other people will submit bug reports
for this driver with other devices, and this will provide the clues
needed to find the problem.
