I think we should focus a bit more on what people in the field are
using on various systems.  That is to say it's not so much the
"vendor", i.e. the FSF, but we should look at other OSs and software
projects that use gcc and see where they are going, because it is very
likely that it is from them that we will get patches and support.

So, what are the other BSDs using, and what are the Linux distros
using or planning to use?  Does anyone know?
