Once you know what you're looking for, try /pub/FreeBSD/ for a good starting point. Also, do consider purchasing the CD set from Walnut Creek (http://www.cdrom.com/) - you'll get immediate access to the entire system, including all ported applications that come with it, and it comes with a warm fuzzy feeling associated with helping the FreeBSD cause.
