Imagine that you create an application foo and it is a good application and many people like it, therefore it is very popular and many "improvements" come from everywhere to it. Then someone comes and releases foo-ng (or foo2 or foo-better or foo-greater) with all those patches that you rejected for some reason. The only problem is that this name silently (and confusingly) states that: 1. foo-ng comes from the same author 2. foo-ng is better > Say NO to bikeshed !
