FreeBSD says that it supports atapi cdroms, > and I believe that is what I have. But, we find that ATAPI CDs don't follow standards. The manufacturers expect you to use their hardware only under DOS/Windoze where they can use their driver only. It's really unfortunate since these are cheap drives, but that's the way it is.
