This is LAN, not for internet (WAN) connecting. (Unless of
course your apartment building happens to have a fibre optic trunk running
right under it, like mine does. :))

There is a Gigabit Myrinet driver that I read about at duke.edu as part of
their Collaborative Cluster Computing Initiative. This is still research
AFAIK.
