I'd like to make a 2.2.5 -> current transition as smooth as possible. In particular, I don't want any old files lying around in /etc or wherever; I'd really like to both have my cake and eat it: transit by making world on the -current sources, but get a completely 'clean' install. Unfortunately, I don't have enough diskspace for a new parition to buildworld too and call it a new root. Any hints, suggestions, etc.? Any particular steps I must take? (I will build the new kernel before booting of course ;)). Oh, and do I have to recompile X? (I've got the sources local, so I'd rather recompile than pull a binary release off the net, but do I really have to?). Thanks a lot, Anatoly. -- Anatoly Vorobey, mellon@pobox.com http://pobox.com/~mellon/ "Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly" - G.K.Chesterton To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
