Yes, I did.....however, I found the problem. For some reason 4.3 didn't dedect the correct HD geometry, even though it displayed the correct disk size. I didn't notice this at first because 4.2, which I installed on the same box 3 weeks earlier, had no problems with it and it installed fine out of the box. Once I entered the correct geometry everything works just fine. ---Marius > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of dotslash > Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 2:25 AM > To: Marius Kirschner; FreeBSD Questions > Subject: Re: os missing??!! > > > ahh, but after fdisk did you select to boot from MBR? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Marius Kirschner" <marius@agoron.com> > To: "FreeBSD Questions" <freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG> > Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 7:12 AM > Subject: os missing??!! > > > > I've installed 4.3 tonight and keep getting "missing operating system." > > Funny thing is I go into "installation - configure - fdisk" and set (S) > the > > FreeBSD partition to boot, the press "W" to write the changes, but next > time > > it restarts I get the same thing again!
