There are some issues with vinum (particularly the RAID-5 code) that I believe are not fixed unless you're running a recent version of -CURRENT, and I don't know whether any of those changes will be back-ported to -STABLE, so keep this in mind. Likewise, there are some issues with running softupdates under certain circumstances (even with -CURRENT), so you don't want to run it on a particular partition unless you know that you actually need the features it provides, and you know that you can live with the problems.
