You're absolutely right - apologies for not including more of the dmesg output or checking the lists (no matches in gnats). I wouldn't be surprised if that's been responsible for some other inexplicable page faults I've seen before, but as most have been double, the instruction pointer hasn't been much help to me in tracing it. By the way: the same behaviour is exhibited using either sym0 or ncr0 to drive the SCSI card. Kind regards, Stuart.
