Hi.
This is from my /etc/X11/XF86Config
for a 3-buttons ps2 mouse ( NOT USB )
but the interesting line is the ZAxisMapping.

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier  "Mouse0"
        Driver      "mouse"
        Option      "Protocol" "auto"
        Option      "Device" "/dev/sysmouse"
