Reply is: Yes! It is possible to create FreeBSD boot floopies from your Macintosh. How is described on this web page ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/macppc/floppy/README.rawdisk The key portion (slightly revised) is included below . - ben SunTar can read/write raw data onto disks under MacOS. You can find it in info-mac archive sites. Use the "Overwrite..." command. 1. Formatted 2HD floppy with 1.4M DOS format. 2. Opened suntar (I used ver 2.1.4) and chose "Overwrite sectors..." in its Special menu(*). 3. Inserted the floppy made in step 1 when "insert the test disk" dialog box Appeared. 4. Answerd the question showed in console with hitting return key (default is 0) for the start sector. 5. Opened the image file in the appeared dialog box. 6. Quit suntar and rebooted the mac. * Check "Expert mode" in the Preferences menu to show the Special menu.
