The patch is now here: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=33089 I have the suspicion that if one sets LOADER_BZIP2_SUPPORT=YES *without* LOADER_NO_GZIP_SUPPORT=YES then one can't load .bz2 files, i.e. this patch really burns the gzip bridge for good. At any rate, I built release cvsup Dec 19th and was able to sysinstall with resulting CD. I am doing a second test make release now (cvsup Dec 22).
