I'll try to understand this, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  What
part are you talking about with the award bios?

This depends a lot on your setup.  My boot disk is running standard mode
but my extra 2G is dangerously dedicated and the world is a happy place. 
I did run into trouble when I was playing with an IDE disk in dangerously
dedicated mode; I had a note to the effect of `no dedicated boot disks' in
the diskformat tutorial, but Greg Lemis encouraged me to remove the ref,
so I did. 

Perhaps a YMMV is appropriate.
