It doesn´t matter what name you choose for your internal network. I have 2 registered domains (ibacnet.com & ibacsoft.dynu.com) and on my internal LAN I use "ibac"; for example, my freebsd gateway hostname is "adeline" and the hostname for the freebsd box I use as a web server is "franky". When I configured their NICs I used "franky.ibac" and "adeline.ibac", and on "franky.ibac" I´m running the "ibacsoft.dynu.com" web server. I hope it doesn´t sound as confusing as it looks :-) Alfonso Romero ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Moran" <wmoran@potentialtech.com> To: "inbox" <inbox@kelleycows.com> Cc: <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org> Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 8:05 AM Subject: Re: Esoteric network setup question > inbox wrote: > > I have a hopefully not silly question; > > > > When I'm setting up my network, does it matter if I give the domain a > > TLD or not?
