I have one more thing to add: as a last resort, I set the home dirs mount
back to nfsvers=3D2 (together with tcp and nolock). This seems to work fine
(although nfs2 is probably not a good idea these days - I guess I am
looking forward to 8.0 including a nfs4 server :-).
