If I try to install 3.4 from the CDROM the controller is not detected. The SCSI controller itself seems to be OK (running Win NT without problems). I tried to experiment a little bit with other releases with following results: 2.2.6: Probing devices on PCI bus 3: pci 3:0:0 Intel Corporation, device=0x1161, class system, subclass=0x00 [no driver assigned] pci 3:9: vendor=0x9005, device=0x008f, class=storage(scsi), int a irq 10 [no driver assigned] 3.1 and 3.4 (both the same): Probing devices on PCI bus 3: ... and nothing else 4.0 snapshot March 8 2000: PCI 3: on pcib3 PCI 3: (vendor=0x8086, dev=0x1161) at 0.0 ahc0: port 0xb800 - 0xb8ff mem 0xfd8ff000 - 0xfd8fffff irq 10 at device 9.0 om pci 3 So the 2.2.6 at least says it the card was found, 3.x doesn't detect the card (and doesn't say anything) and 4.0 detects the controller correctly. The 3.4 has the AIC 7892 on the compatibility list - I would be happy to use it on that machine. On the other hand it is not so critical for me so I can wait for 4.0 or 3.5 ( if this version will fix it), but if you someone could give me a tip what to do to make it work that would be great :-) Mira To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
