I actually did that - an hour later, with the 2009-06-15 12:10:15 UTC commit to ftp/curl, irc/ircproxy, irc/unreal, net/libevnet, and mail/greylite - along with the requisite cursing of self for forgetting it at the time of the actual commit. I keep track of those things, and I sent an e-mail to the maintainers of the dependent ports ten days earlier to let them test the update. Still, you're right to complain - there was a window of about an hour during which the dependent ports were broken.
