Instructions:

1.  ftp ftp.freebsd.org
2.  cd /pub/FreeBSD/ports/www/
3.  get apache.tar.gz
4.  bye
5.  tar xzf apache.tar.gz
6.  cd apache
7.  make && make install 

:-)

Seriously, Apache is a **MUCH MUCH** better httpd server.  It's based on NCSA 
so the config files should port right over.

Apache has a FreeBSD make target (or NetBSD, close enough) [I think], if the 
port won't build it.
