This Chuck was rather a bully, it seems... and Kirk indicated that he would thus never name something he liked & cared about "Chuck". He said that the daemon has no name. (BTW, since this is -newbies, Kirk was one of the last folks at CSRG -- the UC Berkeley "Computer Science Research Group", where the contributions from around the world were merged to become "BSD".) He (Kirk) is on vacation for a bit, as I understand it, so attempts to reach him on the matter may be delayed.
