Thanks, I didn't know the answer to your question. So I went to www.freebsd.org and entered "dec alpha" in the search window at the bottom left corner of the page. The first result listed was http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ/FAQ10.html where it states the following: "FreeBSD 3.x currently runs on the DEC Alpha as well as the x86 architecture. Some interest has also been expressed in a SPARC port, but details on this project are not yet clear. If your machine has a different architecture and you need something right now, we suggest you look at NetBSD or OpenBSD." There was a great deal of information available (more than 25 hits).
