Hi,

I wonder if someone could give me some advice. I tried to install
FreeBSD last night over the internet via a PPP link.

I went through the entire process, entered all the right IP addresses
(the ones which I always use with PPP and which work fine), logged in
using the term program, queried it and found that it seemed to think it
had a good PPP link up, then tried to proceed and every time
installation claimed it couldn't resolve the addresses for various FTP
sites I tried.

Thing is, it returned instantly with the 'not found' message, and
careful observation of the modem lights showed no activity before it
said it couldn't resolve the addresses. So I suspect it wasn't actually
sending out the DNS request properly.

What should I try next to get this to work? Any hints would be
appreciated.

Thanks.

(P.S., please reply via Email)
