Hello
I asked the following in freebsd-newbies and did not get a reply.
I hope somebody is able to help me at least partially with the following :

I tried to install FreeBSD on my new desktop, which has a USB
keyboard and mouse. It does not seem to recognize my keyboard and therefore
does not go into the kernel configuration, where I need to remove the
atkbd0 to enable the USB keyboard(From webpages).

Thus, I am unable to continue the installation in the regualar way.

To get around this problem, I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard (additional - so there
are two keyboards on the machine) and then installed FreeBSD. I would like to
know if there is a simpler way(not adding keyboards) or a distribution which
actually allows the use of FreeBSD keyboards.

Another related problem is with the mouse. In the installation process
it asks whether there is a USB mouse attached. It is however not functioning
in the X configuration.

The closest solution that I found says I should use the -D option
in the boot prompt. But my problem is my keyboard is NEVER active to provide
that option..... So, I am stuck with being unable to provide any startup
options even if I install using another keyboard.

I would really appreciate any help regarding the above two matters.
Since I am not subscribed to the list, please cc the replies to the sender.

	Thanks

Aniruddha
