Your point: since it's Unix underneath - anything goes. You simply never had to be productive in desktop environment since you never needed to ...Aside from this no OS, no Theory, no Religion can be universal... unless you're a Marxist. Unix failed to conquer entire cybervoid for 30 years...needs of desktop users and admins are vastly different...it's still amazes me how ignorant and stubborn arrogant techies are when it comes to real business outside of their domain, it's not only derivative trading where they fail.
