Well I can think of two ways.  If there are better ways, hopefully someone
else will mention that.

 1. sh /etc/rc.conf (I have no idea how this would effect the system).
 2. shutdown, which drops you to single user.  Then if you exit the shell
it'll reload the system and go back to multiuser.
