Hi, Prompted by an earlier email, I'm curious as to what the 'standard' is for starting services in FreeBSD. For example, I have manually downloaded and compiled apache from source, without using the ports collection, as I required apache+mod_ssl+php4+mod_perl. This was easy enough to configure and compile, but... in what file would be the 'correct' place to run the apachectl startssl command? /etc/rc.network? How does the /etc/rc.d/ directory (which mysteriously appeared a few days ago on my system! - presumably as part of a pkg_add) fit in?
