The 2000XTs aren't that old :-) A year or so ago I bought two for my old ISP - they're very nice units and work well. They also work properly with FreeBSD - I know this factually, because I know precisely where two of them are being used on a FreeBSD machine on a daily basis :-) However, the media is fscking expensive and hard to get. The IIIXTs (required for 15G storage; the other tapes which work only yield 10GB) are getting extremely expensive and difficult to find. If I'm going to buy a DLT these days it will be a 4000 series. -- -- Karl Denninger (karl@denninger.net) Web: fathers.denninger.net I ain't even *authorized* to speak for anyone other than myself, so give up now on trying to associate my words with any particular organization.
