Thanks - I see the problem - I neglected walking through some of the # make
config. Fixed now:

 # make config -C security/pinentry
=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 pinentry-0.8.1_3 =E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=
=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80
=E2=94=82 [x] NCURSES  Curses frontend
=E2=94=82 [ ] GTK      Gtk+1 frontend
=E2=94=82 [x] GTK2     Gtk+2 frontend
=E2=94=82 [ ] QT3      Qt3 frontend
=E2=94=82 [x] QT4      Qt4 frontend
