That doesn't sound right.  The hub can't dumb down a port to 10mbit 
for you?  I was under the impression that 100mbit hubs were
backwards-compatible.

In any case, you should be able to enable gatewaying in /etc/rc.conf or
/etc/sysconfig, ensure your routes are correct and it should work.
