I recently tried mounting my cd drive using different commands but it =
gave =3D=20
the following error (or something similar )=20

acd0c: READ_BIG illegal request=20
cd9660: input/output error=20

it mounted fine before using the command =3D93mount_cd9660 /dev/acd0c =
/cdrom=3D=20
=3D93=20
I tried unmounting the cd drive but it said =3D93not currently =
mounted=3D93=3D20=20
There was no physical problem with the cd-drive because it could install =
pa=3D=20
ckages when I booted from floppy, I tried using =3D93sysctl -w =
hw.atamodes=3D3D=3D=20
pio=3D93 to set it to pio mode, no luck. I tried kldload cd9660.ko but =
it sai=3D=20
d the module was already loaded. The /cdrom directory was there as =
before. =3D=20
I then thought that I may have altered something wrongly in the kernel, =
so =3D=20
I compiled the generic, still no luck. In the end I reinstalled and it =
was =3D=20
working fine. any ideas what could have caused this and how it could =
have b=3D=20
een fixed?=20

I have inluded my dmesg as an attachment=20
