I've been running 2.2.2-R with the PAO kernel on an Armada 1130 for a little over a month now, without any significant problems. The two big obstacles for me were getting the software on the machine (as I bought it without an ethernet card or CDROM drive) and then finding the right settings for XFree86. The former was solved with a network install at my workplace with a serial link (although I could have saved tons of time with PLIP had a "Laplink" cable been available), and the latter was solved by examining comparable XF86Config files people had posted for the Armada 4120 -- I'd be glad to send a copy of mine to anyone interested. I'm also not entirely convinced that the battery recharges properly during suspend mode (my understanding -- or lack thereof -- is that APM regulates the pace of recharges so as to preserve battery life), but I haven't had enough time to really tell; I rarely ever run it on battery anyway. In any case, FreeBSD does in fact work wonderfully on the Armada 1130. I'm very happy with it! -- Hoss Firooznia | hfir@math.rochester.edu Department of Mathematics | URL: http://www.math.rochester.edu/u/hfir/ University of Rochester | PGP key: finger hfir@math.rochester.edu
