Is this possible on a running system? >=20 I believe the typical way to upgrade is to cvsup the sources and do a buildworld. If you can't cvsup (small hard drive or whatever), you could delete your src tree (saving your kernel), use /sysinstall to grab kernel only source and do the old fashion compile method. NOTE: This is not usually recommended, but I have had to do it on occation. > I have read the stuff about upgrading in the release notes=20 > but it is a bit=20 > vague. It says you should try /stand/sysinstall but from the=20 > version you are=20 > upgrading to. So does this mean that you copy sysinstall onto=20 > the system you=20 > will be upgrading from the CD or from the internet? >=20 > Any pointers would be appreciated. >=20 > Iain. >=20 > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message >=20 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
