I'm a little embarrassed to say that the problem only happens when I try to update using portmaster, and I failed to test it without using portmaster before I first complained about it not building. Since it's always built with portmaster previously I just assumed that it was a gcc thing. I haven't found the problem yet, but I will keep looking.
