This drive is, I think, dying, it happened to my 1G drive few days ago
and every time I marked badblock to the drive, new errors did show up, I
moved the drive to windoze computer and it 
shows somtimes erratic behavior. ( Mine was Seagate ).

The badblock mapping table might be full or disable.
