Buying another NIC for this > particular thing is not really an option. I don't want to stop you from pursuing getting this NIC working, but why don't you have an option here? I would suspect that your laptop has USB ports and Netgear and others make USB Ethernet in wired and wireless versions. I haven't checked to see if any are gigabit speed, but connecting at a slower speed beats no connection. 8o) You do have to select one carefully though. I bought a Netgear WG111T (wireless) several years ago, but it's only recently that a driver is available in FreeBSD, and mine doesn't work yet. A developer did buy one and made some changes, but I'm not sure all the issues are resolved just yet. But I have a Netgear FA-120 (I think)(wired) and it works just fine. I also have a couple LinkSys (wired), but I've lost confidence in LinkSys. I won't buy any of their products again. > Any suggestion is welcome, my C programming skills are not really to > write home about so I am afraid I can't contribute much on that point > but if you need test dummies or feel like I can help out or if you > need more information, please let me know. > > > Thank you for your time in advance, > > > Patrick > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-net@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-net > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-net-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >
