I am a TOTAL newbie to Unix/freebsd. I have the box up and running, am plugged into a 3com office connect lan modem (isdn router/hub/modem) and have static ip addresses for all machines. I have setup the ed0 card with ip,host, deafault gateway, etc in the /stand/sysinstall/network devices, I can ping the other machines on the lan, but am unable to get out to the net. Do I need to setup ppp even though the machine never dials out (another machine on the network dials to establish the connection)? Do I need to detup route? Not real sure of what goes where......Does anyone know of a tutorial specificaly dealing with setting up a server that will also be a webserver and ftp server?
