Assuming that you have installed another window manager from the ports (for this, try: cd /usr/ports/x11-wm/SOMETHING ; make install) you can change on a per-user basis which window manager will be used by copying the /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc file in your home dir as ~/.xinitrc and editing it's last few lines to execute the window manager of your choise. Trying to avoid another "my wm is the best" thread I will not fall in the trap of recommending a specific window manager from the ports.
